About the event

Newspaper headlines tell us that the richest get exponentially richer and more and more people to fall back into poverty as a result of economic tensions. Poverty and inequality seem to be an integral part of society.

But why is that? Can we justify inequality and if so, how?

Do you think that it's fair that some have millions of dollars and some others are starving? Regardless, you will not be sorry to join our insightful guest lecture about inequality and the four arguments on inequality by Prof. Dr. Teun Dekker.

Prof. Dr. Teun Dekker graduated Summa Cum Laude at University College Utrecht with his Bachelor's degree. After that, he did his Master's degree and Doctorate in Political Theory at Oxford University. He conducted research at Yale University and worked at the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Dr. Teun Dekker is the Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences Education at University College Maastricht, a multidisciplinary honours bachelor programme of Maastricht University. Here, he teaches courses on the intersection of the social sciences and the humanities, including History of Political Thought and Distributive Justice in Contemporary Political Philosophy.

Do not miss the opportunity to attend this lecture in the Statenzaal at the Faculty of Law (Bouillonstraat 3, 6211 LH Maastricht) on Tuesday, May 24th starting at 18.30!

We are looking forward to seeing you there! :)
