About the event
After decades of globalisation and the growth of international trade, we are now seeing a slowdown. Dr. Johan Adriaensen comes to talk with us about the politicisation of trade.
A prime example of the politicisation of trade might be the declaration by French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire of an "all-out economic and financial war" against Russia. After decades where the general consensus was that trade and economic relations can or at least should be apolitical to foster economic growth, this might come to an end now.
Dr. Johan Adriaensen is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and he is an expert in the field of International Political Economy, EU institutions and the External relations of the European Union.
